Track
Self-publishing on Amazon KDP
Platform rules change often. Requirements below were checked against official pages in October 2026; always confirm on the linked source before applying.
KDP needs no audience to start, which makes it a useful parallel track while your social accounts grow. No earnings are implied here.
Beginner steps
- Low-content books: journals, planners, logbooks. Simple interiors, but they must still be useful; KDP removes content "typically disappointing to customers" (KDP).
- Ebooks: short practical guides in a topic you know.
- Use AI responsibly: disclose AI-generated text, images (including covers) or translations; AI-assisted editing or brainstorming need not be disclosed (KDP).
- Respect IP: no infringing titles, covers or trademarks, and no freely available web content unless you own it (KDP).
- Accurate listings: descriptions must not mislead customers.
